Online EXIF Remover & Metadata Stripper

Strip all EXIF metadata from your photos in one click—including GPS location data, camera information, and shooting parameters—to protect your privacy. This tool re-encodes your images locally in the browser, keeping only the pixel data and removing all attached metadata. Batch processing is supported.

Why Removing EXIF Matters

  • Location privacy: GPS data in EXIF can reveal your home, workplace, and frequented locations to anyone who receives the photo.
  • Device privacy: Camera serial numbers and model info can be used to identify and track you.
  • Professional discretion: Shooting parameters (aperture, exposure) may reveal your techniques.

Does Stripping EXIF Affect Image Quality?

No. EXIF is metadata attached to the image file and is completely independent from the pixel data. This tool preserves all pixel data exactly as original—only the metadata is removed. The image looks identical before and after processing.

Is EXIF Removal Reversible?

No. Once EXIF metadata is stripped, it is permanently gone and cannot be recovered from the image itself. Always keep a backup of your original photos if you may need the metadata later.

EXIF Remover FAQ

Does removing EXIF affect photo quality?
Not at all. EXIF is metadata attached to the image file and is independent from the pixel data. This tool re-encodes the image keeping only pixel data, stripping all metadata. Image quality remains the same (with optional lossless or recompressed output).
Can EXIF be recovered after removal?
No. Once EXIF is deleted, it is permanently gone and cannot be recovered from the image itself. We recommend backing up the original photo before stripping EXIF, or using an EXIF viewer to export any information you want to keep first.
Why is removing EXIF important?
Photos carry EXIF data that includes GPS location, camera serial numbers, and capture timestamps. If you share photos on social media or send them to strangers without stripping EXIF, the recipient can pinpoint your home address, infer your device info, and track your daily patterns. Some chat apps and email auto-strip EXIF, but sending original photos via email or direct file transfer does not.
Does it support batch processing?
Yes. You can select multiple photos at once, strip EXIF from all of them, and download as a batch. All batch processing happens locally in your browser—no photo is ever uploaded.
